Astrid provides program management support to 3ie research initiatives on humanitarian assistance and agriculture. She has seven years of experience engaging and working with multilateral organizations on development challenges.
Before joining 3ie, Astrid worked at the World Bank supporting the international response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, she served as a strategic communications specialist and project coordinator at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). In this role, she successfully coordinated cross-functional teams responsible for the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of 17 Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).
Garcia is passionate about social impact projects focused on poverty alleviation. She was a Global Shaper of the World Economic Forum, where she contributed to the humanitarian response and migration plans towards Venezuelan citizens. She also worked as a Policy Analyst at a local NGO in Sierra Leone focused on community driven development.
She earned a Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago, specializing in Data Analytics, which has equipped her with valuable skills in analyzing and interpreting complex data to drive evidence-based decision-making.
